Khatanga Degel with skirt is an eastern-style torso solution for full-contact armored combat. The design is based on historical analogs associated with Mongol-Tatar warriors: a quilted/padded robe reinforced with plates (“khatangu degel”), adapted for modern hard-contact use.

The core is a padded soft shell (layered textile/leather/felt depending on configuration) with an internal plate set arranged with overlaps. Enlarged plates help reduce gaps on transitions and distribute impact across critical areas. Combined reinforcement thickness can be placed where protection is most needed while keeping weight manageable. The skirt extends coverage to the lower torso and the upper hip line, reducing exposure at the “torso–pelvis” transition.

Mobility: the degel behaves like a flexible оболочка— it bends at the waist, stays workable in shoulder elevation, and supports active clinch movement. The geometry accounts for typical anatomy (shoulder line, waist shaping, chest/back volume) to achieve a stable size-based fit without relying on “custom-for-each-person” claims.

Use and upkeep: the construction is serviceable — hardware can be checked and individual reinforcement elements can be replaced when needed. For tournament equipment checks, acceptance depends on the exact configuration (material/thickness, zone coverage, edge safety, and overall kit integration), so match this armor to your league/event rules (HMB and other formats) and to your full harness.
