Eastern lamellar torso armor for buhurt and training
Eastern lamellar armor is torso protection built from multiple plates (lamellae) connected into a flexible field. The layout follows historical sources and analogs of eastern lamellar construction and is intended for full contact historical fighting where both coverage and movement matter.
The plated structure supports torso rotation, bending and clinch work with less rigid binding on motion. Plate overlap helps distribute impact and manage contact with edges and thrusts, while stability is achieved through straps and fixed attachment points.
Fit tuning is done through strap adjustments and mounting positions: it allows functional setup for common body shapes and proportions without claiming individualized measurement by default. Regular inspection of lacing and connectors helps maintain reliability in intensive use.
Serviceability is a practical advantage of lamellar: worn components (plates, connectors, lacing/fasteners) can be replaced locally without rebuilding the entire armor. Final protection and mobility depend on configuration, plate thickness, padding and correct assembly for the given tournament rules; equipment is typically checked per event (HMB, IMCF and other formats evaluate compliance case by case).
