Product description

The Kiev Helmet is a buhurt helmet built from 13th-century inspired historical analogs of ancient Kiev. Production is guided by historical sources and period prototypes, while the structure is tuned for modern full-contact loads: repeated impacts, clinch pressure, and shield/weapon contact.

Protection focuses on keeping the face line and neck zone covered to reduce direct contact and snag risks in close range. Dome geometry and edge lines are aimed at stable positioning on the head, limiting unwanted “nose-dive” movement during pulls and collisions, while maintaining a functional field of view for crowded exchanges.

The set includes a chainmail aventail to cover the lower head and neck and to help manage glancing strikes. You also get a padded liner with hidden additional plates plus straps, which supports fit tuning, keeps the helmet centered, and reduces shifting under impact.

Mobility and use: closed helmets rely on correct strap and liner setup. Once adjusted, the helmet stays more consistent in clinch, reduces neck fatigue, and keeps vision more predictable. Routine service is straightforward: check straps/rivets, dry and preserve after training, and maintain the chainmail aventail.

This model can be used across multiple full-contact armored combat rule sets (including HMB, IMCF, and club formats), but acceptance depends on the specific event requirements, your setup, and the on-site technical inspection.
