Black Burial Russian Helmet for Full Contact Combat
Russian helmet “Black Burial” is a buhurt-ready build inspired by historical sources and archaeological analogs of the 10th–12th centuries. The overall silhouette follows early medieval prototypes while the assembly is tuned for repeated impacts and close-range pressure typical for full contact combat.
The defining feature is concealed face and neck protection. This layout reduces exposed snag points, supports a clean sight line, and adds practical coverage during tight exchanges and clinch contact. The dome geometry and edge work are aimed at keeping the helmet seated and resisting unwanted shifts under impact.
The set includes a chainmail aventail, strap/suspension system, and a padded liner with hidden reinforcing plates. The liner is intended to distribute pressure, improve stability, and mitigate secondary effects from strikes. Sizing and geometry are designed with anatomy in mind (head shape and seating depth) without implying automatic one-off custom fitting.
For maintenance: the aventail and straps are replaceable, and the attachment points are accessible for inspection and field repairs. This helps keep the helmet serviceable across training cycles and tournaments.
On tournament checks: the protection layout generally aligns with common inspection logic across multiple formats (e.g., HMB/IMCF/ACL and similar rules), but final approval depends on the specific event regulations, selected build options, and the gear condition at inspection.
