Black Burial Helmet with TiN “gold” finish
Black Burial is a Russian helmet inspired by 10th–12th century archaeological finds and historical analogs. The overall geometry is made for real full-contact use: stable seating on the head, practical field of view, and balanced weight distribution for active movement and clinch work.
The key feature is concealed face and neck protection. It covers vulnerable zones without large protruding elements that tend to snag in grappling and crowd fighting. This approach helps reduce cuts and edge catches while keeping head mobility workable for pushing, turning, and line fighting.
The exterior titanium nitride coating provides a “gold” appearance and improves surface resistance to minor abrasion during routine use. If you want a mixed look, the coating can be applied to individual helmet parts to match other kit components.
Included in the set: chainmail aventail, a padded liner with hidden reinforcement plates, and straps for secure retention. Together they help manage impact energy and keep the helmet from shifting during strikes, shoves, and grabs.
For event checks, always compare your build to the specific ruleset (clearances, attachment points, padding condition, and other safety criteria). The concept is oriented toward typical full-contact inspection practices (including HMB/IMCF-style formats and similar), but final approval depends on the event regulations and correct assembly.
Maintenance: periodically inspect aventail rings and fasteners, rivets, straps, and liner compression. Wear parts are serviceable and can be replaced without reworking the helmet’s main geometry.
