The Topfhelm “Griffon” is a European grand-helm stylization based on historical references and analogs. Built for regular full contact use: a rigid shell supports clinch work and close-range impacts, while strap fixation helps keep the helmet stable. The set includes a chainmail aventail, a soft liner with hidden additional plates, and belts/straps. Works as a practical base for tournament gear when paired with proper neck and under-helmet protection.

Product description

The Topfhelm “Griffon” is a European grand helm stylization, oriented to historical sources and Topfhelm analogs. The closed form gives full perimeter coverage and a predictable platform for clinch pressure, shield contact, and glancing blows. Geometry is tuned for fighting use: loads are carried by the shell, while comfort and control come from a correctly assembled liner system.

Included: chainmail aventail, a soft liner with hidden additional plates, and straps. The aventail covers the neck and upper chest line as a link between the helmet and throat/shoulder protection. The liner stabilizes fit and reduces micro-movement; service parts such as straps and hardware are realistic to maintain and replace as they wear.

Fit and setup: internal volume is intended for padding, so you can tune the seat by adjusting liner layers instead of forcing a tight shell. Build it as a system—neck protection (gorget/collar), correct strap tension, and compatibility with shoulders and gambeson improve stability and limit shifting during grabs.

For events under different rulesets (buhurt, duels, related formats including HMB/IMCF), the helmet is aligned with common inspection checkpoints: shell integrity, no hazardous edges, reliable retention, and correct neck-zone work with the aventail. Final compliance depends on the current event regulations and your complete protective setup.
