Product description

Gjermundbu helmet is built around a late 9th–early 10th century archaeological prototype. Dome geometry and facial layout follow historical analogs, while details are adapted for full-contact armored combat and frequent training use.

Protection: hidden protection in the shell and eye bridges cover the eye area and add stiffness against strikes and clinch pressure. The open face supports breathing and distance control; retention relies on chin straps plus a Simon strap to reduce helmet lift.

Included: mail aventail for neck/occiput coverage, padded liner with pelerine, chin straps and hardware. Fit is achieved by choosing the correct size range and tuning straps; final seating depends on liner thickness and proper eyebrow-line position.

Use & care: dry the liner and mail after sessions, re-check rivets, rings and strap wear; consumables are replaceable, supporting serviceability. Before events, verify eye openings, strap security and compatibility with your gorget/shoulder protection. Passing inspection depends on the specific ruleset and the marshal’s check (e.g., HMB, IMCF, ACL and other formats).
