Product description

Nasal bascinet is an open bascinet with a nasal plate (bretèche/nasal), documented on German and Northern Italian analogs from 1340–1370. The build is oriented to historical sources and prototypes: skull profile, fit logic, and the way the nasal plate is attached at the brow and connected down to the aventail.

For full contact use the helmet is reinforced with practical features: hidden face protection works as an internal load-bearing layer, and eye bridges help the sight area keep its geometry under impacts. The open front gives usable breathing and field of view while keeping brow and nose protection through the nasal plate and dome geometry.

Included in the price: chainmail aventail, soft padding with a pelerine for load distribution, simon strap, and a strap set — the core elements for stable retention in clinch and during pushes.

  • Protection: dome + internal face layer; aventail covers neck and collarbone line.
  • Mobility: open face, comfortable head turn; pelerine supports consistent seating on the liner.
  • Fit: select size by head circumference, accounting for your arming cap/liner; geometry is made for an anatomical head shape without “per-person measuring” claims.
  • Serviceability: straps, buckles, and aventail elements can be maintained and replaced as they wear.

About event checks: the construction is made with common safety requirements of full-contact formats in mind (HMB, IMCF, and local rules). Final approval always depends on the specific rulebook and the on-site inspection of your gear.
