Plate gauntlets for full-contact fights — 1.5 mm
Plate gauntlets for buhurt/full contact are built to protect fingers and the back of the hand without sacrificing grip control. This model is a stylization of knightly gauntlets, guided by historical sources and period analogs, while the geometry is aimed at safe, repeatable use in sparring and clinch work.
The base material is 1.5 mm hardened steel (other materials may be agreed separately). Plate segments take the hit and distribute load across the hand, reducing peak stress on knuckles and phalanges. A sewn-in soft mitten is included: it adds damping, stabilizes the hand inside the shell, and helps avoid hotspots during long sessions.
- Protection: plated coverage for hand and fingers with emphasis on knuckle zones.
- Mobility: the plated layout keeps finger work usable for grip, transitions, and clinch; feel depends on size choice and correct tightening.
- Durability: hardened steel plus straightforward service — keep an eye on fasteners/rivets and the mitten condition.
- Use & care: dry the mitten after fights, remove moisture from metal, and regularly check for play, burrs, or sharp edges.
Works as hand protection for buhurt across different full-contact rulesets (IMCF, HMB, etc.). Final compliance is defined by the event’s written regulations and the technical inspection on site.
