Black Cross Helmet for Buhurt Full-Contact
Buhurt helmet “Black Cross” is a European pattern built for full-contact historical fighting. The shape is guided by historical prototypes — images from the medieval manuscript cycle Roman d’Alexandre — without claiming absolute reconstruction.
The practical difference from a classic ROA-style silhouette is a wide visor brought closer to the dome to reduce the typical gap between parts. In clinch work and crowded exchanges this helps lower snag points and reduces the chance of a hit finding an opening.
- Visor retention with two elements used together: a button and a strap. The strap is a service part that can be replaced when worn, keeping maintenance simple.
- Dome and face geometry are shaped for stable seating with a padded arming cap: less shift under side pressure and fewer vision drops from helmet movement.
- Multiple build options are available (steel/heat treatment and thickness) so you can match your ruleset, weight target, and training volume.
Rules compatibility: the design is aimed at common technical inspections in armored combat formats (including HMB, IMCF, SCA and others). Final approval is always decided by the event regulations and the inspector.
Use and upkeep: check visor hardware after sessions, keep a spare strap, and straighten small dents early. When choosing a size, measure head circumference with your arming cap and the padding you plan to run.
