Product description

This bascinet helmet follows historical sources and museum analogs: it is based on a visor kept in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich (Germany). The model stays close to the original outline and details, while not claiming an absolute one-to-one reconstruction.

For full contact, the priorities are stable coverage, controlled weight, and reliable retention. The visor’s ornate slits support airflow and sight within the protective envelope, and the solid areas of the skull are built to take repeated impacts. The included chainmail helps protect the throat and the lower-face gap where hits often land.

  • Fight-ready set: chainmail, padded liner with pelerine, chin straps, Simon strap.
  • Fit: padding geometry is designed to work with an arming cap; the dome shape is sized around typical head anatomy and load distribution.
  • Mobility: pelerine and mail protect the neck zone without turning into a rigid collar when straps are adjusted correctly.
  • Serviceability: straps are consumables—replaceable when worn without rebuilding the helmet shell.

Event checks: usable across full contact formats (buhurt melees, duels, and similar rulesets). Inspections commonly focus on edge safety, strap security, neck/face coverage, and overall condition—so compare the specs and setup with your league requirements (e.g., HMB/IMCF and others) before use.

Maintenance: dry the liner and mail after training, wipe moisture from steel, and regularly check rivets and straps. Routine care extends service life and reduces corrosion risk.
