Mongolian “Keshikten” helmet for full-contact armored combat: simple dome geometry with a visor to manage vertical and glancing hits. Includes a chainmail aventail, a padded liner with hidden reinforcement plates, and strap suspension. Fit can be tuned for height and tension; the liner spreads impact load and reduces hotspot pressure. Works with typical gorgets and hoods; serviceable by replacing straps/liner parts and repairing mail sections.

Product description

Mongolian helmet “Keshikten” is an eastern dome helmet built for full-contact armored combat and regular training. The design is guided by historical sources and period analogs, keeping the characteristic dome profile and front silhouette.

The simple dome geometry provides consistent impact behavior and keeps neck mobility for clinch work. A front visor adds coverage to the forehead area and helps deflect vertical and glancing strikes, reducing edge catches on the dome line.

Included for field use:

  • chainmail aventail to cover the back of the head, ears, and upper neck;
  • padded liner with hidden reinforcement plates to spread impact load;
  • strap suspension for tuning fit height and tension.

Fit is sized around typical head anatomy: dome depth and suspension help keep stable clearance for a coif/padding without excessive movement. This supports vision control and breathing during long exchanges.

Serviceability: the aventail can be repaired by replacing rings/sections, while straps and suspension parts are replaceable as they wear. This matters for fighters who train often and need predictable upkeep.

Competition note: geometry and components are selected with common tournament checks in mind for buhurt / full contact formats. Final acceptance depends on the specific event rules and the chosen configuration (steel option, thickness, padding, hardware condition).
