Workhorse Mongolian helmet in the Keshikten pattern for buhurt training and matches. The fabric-covered burlet adds edge damping and reduces hard contact with the neck/shoulder line. Included: chainmail aventail, padded liner with hidden extra plates, and strap set. The geometry supports a stable fit with an undercap; choose size by head circumference and padding thickness.

Product description

This Keshikten helmet follows Eastern historical analogs: the design is based on historical sources and prototypes, keeping the recognizable dome profile and the burlet line.

The fabric-covered burlet acts as an edge buffer. It helps reduce snagging on the lower rim and softens contact around the ear/cheek area and at the interface with neck and shoulder protection. In clinch work and repeated strikes this makes the helmet’s movement more predictable.

Included set for practical fighting use:

  • chainmail aventail for neck and lower-face coverage;
  • padded liner with hidden additional plates to spread impact load;
  • strap system for retention and serviceability.

Build options are available in different steel/thickness configurations, so you can tune the balance between weight and durability for your training format.

Tournament note: the construction is made with common safety inspection requirements in mind for various leagues (e.g., HMB, IMCF, and local rules). Final acceptance always depends on the event regulations and the marshals’ check.

Maintenance: dry the padding and burlet after fights, inspect straps and aventail attachment points; consumables are straightforward to replace.
