Product description

Kovaly Helmet is an Eastern helmet with a solid face mask, oriented to historical sources and 12th–13th century Eastern Europe steppe prototypes. The geometry is made for full contact armored fighting: rigid frontal zone, neck coverage, and stable retention.

  • 2 mm steel thickness provides the base level of impact resistance; final behavior depends on the selected steel option.
  • Included mail aventail protects the neck and lower head and helps manage the interface with a gorget or shoulder coverage.
  • Soft padded liner with hidden reinforcing plates spreads load and reduces local pressure points during repeated hits.
  • Straps and suspension allow fit adjustment within the chosen size so the helmet stays steadier in clinch work and during falls.

Use and care: dry the liner after training, check fasteners and rings on the aventail, and renew corrosion protection as needed. Straps and aventail parts are serviceable items that can be repaired or replaced without rebuilding the shell.

The helmet can be suitable for common armored combat rule sets (for example IMCF/ACL/HMB) if it meets the specific event requirements. Always test visibility and retention, remove sharp edges, and pass the tournament technical inspection—acceptance depends on the organizer rules and the inspector decision.
