Eastern-style plate mittens based on Persian and related historical analogs. Overlapping plates sit on a dense quilted glove, while mail protects the sides and wrist. The geometry keeps a usable grip without forcing a rigid “fist”. Intended for reenactment and light contact; for buhurt/full contact most fighters choose a stiffer, tournament-oriented hand protection.

Product description

Eastern plate mittens are a practical, Eastern-inspired hand armor solution. The design is based on historical sources and period analogs, including Persian patterns and regions with similar armor traditions.

The core is a dense quilted glove that spreads impact and supports a stable fit around the palm. On top, a plate package with double overlap reduces the chance of a strike catching a seam. The sides and cuff are covered with mail, adding wrist coverage while keeping flex. The thumb is protected by a dedicated plate element.

  • Hand protection through overlapping plates plus quilting for shock distribution.
  • Grip mobility: not locked into a hard “fist”, easier weapon handling.
  • Mail cuff helps cover the wrist and stays flexible.
  • Serviceability: ring/lacing attachment allows localized repairs and part replacement.

Use note: the manufacturer states these mittens are not intended for buhurt. Full-contact rules typically demand higher hand/finger rigidity and coverage; always check your event’s inspection requirements before field use.

Maintenance: inspect edges and burrs, keep an eye on rings/lacing, and dry the quilting thoroughly after training.
