Product description

Steel buckler is a small round shield designed for active one-hand work: line coverage, beats, blade control, and short, controlled shield strikes. The concept follows historical prototypes and source-based analogs from medieval fencing practice, where bucklers were commonly paired with one-handed weapons.

The buckler is made from tool steel with a 2 mm plate thickness. Standard configuration is 31 cm in diameter and around 1.7 kg in weight. In a full-contact environment, steel is practical: it resists edge damage from repeated hits, and post-fight maintenance is straightforward—reforming, deburring, and checking fasteners can be done without complex procedures.

For carry and control, it can be fitted with a hand-fixing strap and a belt hook. The geometry is aimed at typical hand proportions and a stable grip, supporting mobility and reducing unwanted rotation during impact and clinch work.

Diameter and weight can be adjusted to suit your style and a specific ruleset. For tournament inspections, always compare the final specs to your organizer’s regulations (including formats such as HMB, IMCF, and others): verify limits on dimensions, weight, and edge/strap requirements before the event.
