One-handed sword with conical pommel, 90 cm
This one-handed sword is built as a sport weapon for buhurt and other full-contact medieval combat formats. Its silhouette follows European historical one-handed sword analogs with a conical pommel; development is guided by period references and typology work, without claiming absolute reconstruction.
Specs: 90 cm overall length, 1.48 kg weight, 4 mm blade thickness. The blade uses blunt geometry, is not sharpened, and the tip is rounded to reduce cutting and puncture risk during hard exchanges. A heavier pommel shifts balance closer to the hand, improving point control, quicker returns after strikes, and smoother transitions around shields and body targets.
Use & upkeep: designed for regular training and bouts. Check blade straightness, grip wear, and the guard/pommel assembly for any play after impact-heavy sessions. Minor grip damage and wrap wear are serviceable without complex work.
Rules note: geometry, thickness, and bluntness are aligned with common safety expectations across leagues (HMB, IMCF, ACL, etc.), but final approval depends on the specific event and the marshals’/tech inspection.
