Scaled mittens with a European-style palm plate for buhurt and full-contact historical fighting. Scale plates are riveted to a leather carrier, and a soft quilted mitten is sewn inside to absorb impacts. The mitten layout keeps a working grip and reduces snagging while covering knuckles and fingers. Designed around common tournament safety checks; final approval depends on each event ruleset and inspection.

Product description

Scaled mittens are armored hand protection in a mitten format with a European-style palm plate. The scale plates are set on a leather carrier and fixed with rivets; a soft quilted mitten is sewn inside to spread load and soften impacts on the knuckles.

Protection and durability. The scaled pack covers the back of the hand and fingers, while the palm plate acts as a rigid shield on the grip side. The “metal + leather + padding” stack is serviceable: rivets and leather parts can be replaced locally without complex sheet work.

Mobility and grip. The mitten layout supports weapon control and keeps the hand compact, which helps reduce catching on edges. The inner quilted layer stabilizes the fit so the plates do not shift during repeated hits.

Fit. Geometry is built around hand anatomy and typical grip positions; choose size by the maker’s chart and tune the padding thickness to your glove/liner. This is not made-to-measure by default, but the shape helps achieve a consistent seating.

Historical basis. The styling follows European historical analogs and source-driven prototypes as a practical sports interpretation.

Tournament checks. The construction is generally aligned with common safety requirements seen in buhurt formats (e.g., HMB, IMCF and similar rulesets). Event admission is decided by the specific commission, so approval depends on the tournament rules and your full kit configuration.
