Eastern greaves — shin protection for combat
Eastern greaves are shin armor for full contact historical fighting and reenactment, developed with reference to historical sources and analogs of Eastern equipment. The design follows period-inspired geometry and overlap logic without claiming absolute museum-level reconstruction.
The goal is to cover the vulnerable shin area and part of the foot/instep where heavy strikes often land. The shape is formed to sit stably on the lower leg during footwork, pivots, clinch pressure and directional changes. General leg anatomy is taken into account to reduce shifting and avoid unnecessary gaps.
The construction is oriented toward hard use. Straps and connections are arranged to keep ankle motion workable and avoid blocking the foot during active movement. The greaves are also maintainable: you can re-tighten hardware, replace wear items, and restore individual sections after deformation, supporting overall durability through the season.
About tournament checks: this item can match common safety requirements across multiple full-contact rule sets (including buhurt/IMCF/HMB and similar formats), but compliance always depends on the specific event rules, configuration and on-site inspection.
Sizing is based on standard leg/boot parameters (including padding and footwear) and does not imply automatic bespoke fitting per fighter. Final fit is adjusted via strap setup and positioning.
