Eastern sabatons with chainmail elements
Eastern sabatons for full contact, built without a back plate so they strap over your own footwear. Segmented plates cover the toe and instep, while chainmail elements keep flexible zones working during steps, lunges, and clinch pressure. The layout is aimed at impact resistance and abrasion from rough contact without turning the foot into a rigid block. Boots are not included.

Product description

Eastern sabatons are foot protection for modern medieval full-contact fighting and hard training. This type is built without a back, so it straps over your existing footwear and is easy to put on, adjust, and service. The toe and instep are covered by segmented plates, and chainmail elements are used in a traditional eastern-armor manner to keep mobility in working bends and reduce stress points during movement.

The design is based on historical sources and eastern prototypes (lamellar/plate solutions for foot defense) while staying practical for current buhurt use. Geometry is shaped to cover vulnerable zones without excessive bulk, keeping footwork and balance more predictable in exchanges.

  • Protection: toe/instep coverage against cuts, blunt hits, and accidental stomps.
  • Mobility: open-back layout and flexible zones support stepping, pivots, and stance changes.
  • Fit & adjustment: strap system lets you tune tension to your footwear and instep height.
  • Durability & service: straps and fasteners are replaceable; local repairs are straightforward.

Many rule sets (for example HMB, IMSF and other formats) treat foot protection as mandatory. This build follows common inspection logic, but acceptance always depends on the specific event, its current rules, and the complete armor configuration.

Note: boots are not included.
