Three-part eastern sabatons for full contact
Three-part eastern sabatons are designed for buhurt and other full-contact medieval combat formats where reliable foot protection matters. The shape is based on historical sources and prototypes of eastern armor, including a segmented instep and a chainmail element used in traditional constructions.
Mobility-focused build. Three articulated sections reduce stiffness compared to one-piece foot armor, helping you keep a functional step during turns, acceleration, and close work. The open heel makes the sabatons easier to fit onto a wide range of boots without complex modifications.
Protection and durability. The front and upper part of the foot are covered—areas that commonly take impacts in exchanges and clinch pressure. The segmented layout also improves serviceability: if a section gets dented or hardware fails, you usually repair or replace the affected part instead of the whole assembly.
Fit and mounting. Geometry accounts for typical foot and instep anatomy, with plate overlap and articulation supporting movement. Strapping is set up to work with your boot and belt/strap system. It is not “made to one person by default,” but the design targets consistent sizing and practical fit.
Tournament inspections. Many rulesets require foot armor (for example, HMB, IMSF, and other formats). These sabatons may comply with a given event’s checks when mounted correctly and paired with an appropriate armor set—final acceptance depends on the specific rules and marshals.
Note: boots are not included.
