Oleshkovo Russian Lamellar for Full Contact
Lamellar armor “Oleshkovo” is a Russian-style torso harness oriented to 13th-century historical sources and analog finds. The concept is based on period imagery and plate finds associated with the Oleshkovo area (historical prototype), without claiming absolute one-to-one reconstruction.
Protection: overlapping lamellae cover front and back; the segmented shoulder protection shields the upper arm/clavicle line; lower elements add coverage around the hips. Lamellar construction spreads impact across multiple rows and the strap system, helping the armor stay stable under repeated hits.
Mobility: separate plate rows and flexible lacing allow torso rotation and shoulder work for grappling and tight exchanges. Side straps provide volume adjustment over a gambeson or other padding.
Fit and compatibility: geometry is designed around practical body proportions (shoulder line/chest) and layered wear. For tournament checks, the outcome depends on the organizer’s rules: you’ll need safe edges, correct overlaps, and proper sizing/assembly. We describe the construction; final approval is always at inspection.
Durability & service: modular lamellar is repair-friendly—individual plates, laces, and straps can be replaced. After fights, recheck lacing tension, strap condition, and hardware.
Use: training and competitions in full-contact armored combat across multiple formats (including HMB/IMCF/ACL), provided the assembled kit meets the event’s requirements.
