Scaly skirt type 1 is often seen in images of armor from the 15th century. As a rule, such a skirt was used together with a cuirass. A large number of scales provide good mobility of the skirt, at the same time, the stiffening ribs on the plates make them durable and provide good protection against impacts. The shape and arrangement of the Czechs is similar to the plumage of a bird and this gives a beautiful aesthetic appearance to the armor set.
